Phatim went to be with the Lord a week before Christmas. She battled with breast cancer for three years. The day before she died, she told her husband of a vision of Jesus welcoming her into the Father’s house.

Phatim was one of the first Thai believers of “House of Care” ministry, a house church started by Annie Silagan Winslade, ACM-trained missionary to Thailand.

When she was alive, Phatim continued to grow in her faith despite her debilitating condition. She led her husband and her whole family to Christ. She was also a mother to many believers in the “House of Care.”

Many Thais heard about the good news through Phatim’s life-- and death.

On the day of her funeral, her husband handed out the photocopied note she had written, testifying about the Lord’s goodness. Many Thai people attended and were touched by the warmth and love they witnessed. For many of them, Phatim’s funeral was their first direct exposure to Christianity.

“Some Thais who witnessed the funeral asked how they would know where to go when they die,” says Annie.

Annie praises God for the Christian hope they could share with others. “Truly Christ has triumphed over death and the grave,” she says.

Trained by the Asian Center for Missions, Annie and her husband, and other Filipino missionaries, continue to press hard toward their goal of reaching more Thais to Christ.
