From The Journals of Dr. Jay and Jennifer Angeles

Grace and Peace to you! It's been quite a while since we've last sent an issue of Charis and we are truly sorry for being out of circulation for some time now. We honestly are in a particularly challenging situation - raising kids in the mission field. Both tasks, raising wonderful children and doing God's work in this land of Timor Leste, challenging as it is, nonetheless, we consider as great privileges which we are very glad to fulfill.

Our precious little ones are thrillingly growing more and more beautiful each day. Amanda just had her second birthday last July 28 and Karissa is now seven months. It's amazing to note their obvious similarities and striking differences in so many ways, which makes it even more exciting and thought-provoking to take care of and guide them. AJ has grown into a responsible and compassionate big sister. It's a blessing that she doesn't feel any indifference or jealousy over her little sister, instead she's so protective of her. She loves Risse and would always be ready to give a helping hand to mommy in taking care or her. Risse who's inquisitive as well now crawls almost to every corner of our house reaching out for things, exploring. She also loves gliding through with her walker and plays tug with her big sister. They have a bonding beyond words can tell.

They could spend about an hour or so contently playing, reading, or giggling together in their nursery with some supervision. Upon waking up, going to bed, taking baths or having meals each would look for the other. We praise the Lord that both of them are in good health, Risse though had just recently recovered from a week of severe diarrhea; every now and then she has some allergic reactions to certain foods, a problem which she started manifesting since her second day after birth. AJ started going to a guided playgroup sessions that helps to stimulate and develop her skills. Apparently she has a certain inclination to arts; her first painting hangs in our wall. *

Jay and Jenny Angeles organize medical, dental, and health projects in reaching the communities in East Timor. Jay graduated in the year 1999 while Jenny graduated in the year 2001 from ACM Quezon City.

We appreciate you all! Blessings to everybody!

For the healing of East Timor,
Jay, Jennie, AJ and Risse

Christmas is just around the corner…AJ and Karissa are just two of some 40 missionary kids out in the mission field today. Most of them will be unable to come home for Christmas and enjoy the unusual bounty of the Filipino table during the season. As their parents shared above, it is a challenge to raise kids in the mission field. Would you like to bless our little ones this Christmas or be a partner in their care? Below are their names and ages, you can designate your gifts of cash or kind to them and we will endeavor to bring it to their doorstep or bank account:
