July Updates and Prayer Points from the Mission Field
1. Thailand
Since March, Julie Camangeg was left alone in Thailand because Bessie, her co-worker, had to go home in Australia to care for her step-mother who had been operated due to cancer. Bessie’s absence has affected their ministry in Thailand. One aspect that was affected is their finances as Bessie helps Julie pay their bills. Aside from that, Julie is experiencing her limitations in doing the ministry especially now that there are doors of opportunity for new ministry for them in Thailand.
Julie also shared how God has blessed their ministry in spite of their situation. Bessie’s absence forced Julie to relearn driving. This has opened new doors for ministry. Praise God for the Khun Pong family (husband, wife and 2 children) whom Julie baptized and are now faithfully attending their Sunday afternoon service and their Bible Study.
Prayer Points:

3. Cambodia

Last June 1, Nancy Corsonada, with a group of foreign doctors and local Cambodians went to Toul Sophy (One village in Saang District) for a Medical Mission. Nancy was able to share the gospel to the whole village in Khmer language. More than 200 people heard that God can do more than physical healing. That day she went home rejoicing as the whole village came to know Jesus as their Savior and Lord.
God is doing so many miracles in Cambodia. Nancy shared about an eight-year old girl named Sophoan, who fell from a bicycle and cut the very sensitive and private part of her body. It was already dark, no hospital nearby and no medicine even just to wash or disinfect the wound. Nancy used boiled guava leaves to wash the wound and the egg plant fruit and placed it as antibiotic on the girl’s wound. Nancy was worried because of the continuous bleeding of the girl’s wound especially when she makes some movements. It was Saturday evening, a time of prayer and fellowship so they prayed for Sophoan. The next day, she rejoiced and praised God to see Sophoan singing and dancing in the Children’s Sunday School. Glory to God!
Prayer Points:
- Pray for the New Church Building in Tapreak that God will use it as a testimony of God’s faithfulness and that more people in Cambodia will come to know Jesus as their Savior and Lord.
- Pray for more opportunities to reach out to the senior citizens of Cambodia.
- Pray for Toit ( Nancy’s Cambodian friend) that he will come to know Jesus as his Savior and Lord.
- Pray for God’s blessing and protection upon Nancy.

They found out 47 out of the 2,400 kids have heart defects and needing some medical attention. They will ask the help of doctors from overseas to review the records and ask for their recommendations for these children suffering from congenital heart disease. They are hoping to start treatment of these children this July till the end of the year.

5. China
Jimmy Cruz went to accompany his wife and his son to Hong Kong, so his son can pursue his studies here in the Philippines. This decision was due to his financial constraint of sending his son to school in China. Jimmy also took this opportunity to get books and materials for their underground school. He thanked God for His favor and provision. He was able to get a sponsor for these books and he was able to bring the materials to China.
Jimmy will go back to the villages to continue the ministry that he has started and start other ministries there. He needs to return to Hong Kong this August to get more books for their underground school. He also mentioned that they need $1,000 to get a bigger place for the bookstore which will also be used for the underground school.
